Dear esteemed colleagues and members of ACOMS:
It is with great honor that I share with you today my vision for our college.
As we embark on my journey as ACOMS president together, guided by collaboration and innovation, I am inspired by the incredible potential we possess to shape the future of our profession and, more importantly, to positively impact the lives of countless individuals (both our patients and fellow members).
First and foremost, let me express my deep appreciation for the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of each and every member of our college. It is this collective spirit of collaboration that forms the cornerstone of our success and sets us apart as leaders in our field. As we look to the future, we must foster a culture of collaboration within our college and beyond. By leveraging the diverse expertise and perspectives of our members, we can tackle the most pressing challenges facing our profession and explore new frontiers of innovation.
Education lies at the heart of our mission, and ACOMS is dedicated to providing high-quality educational opportunities for our members and the broader oral and maxillofacial surgery community. By providing educational programs through conferences, workshops, and ACOMS Anywhere, as well as delivering thought leadership to the OMS community through ACOMS Review, we strive to keep our members abreast of the latest advancements, techniques, and best practices in the field.
Collaboration both within ACOMS and externally with other organizations not only strengthens our collective knowledge base but also promotes a spirit of unity and solidarity that is essential for our continued growth and success. Innovation lies at the heart of our profession, driving advancements in patient care, surgical techniques, and technology. As we embrace the rapid pace of change in health care, we must harness the power of innovation to enhance the quality, safety, and efficacy of our surgical interventions. I look forward to increasing collaboration and partnerships during my tenure as president.
As my presidency begins, I would like to reaffirm ACOMS’ commitment to a future filled with promise and possibility. Let us embrace the challenges that lie ahead with courage and determination, knowing that by working together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.
To my fellow board members, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering dedication and commitment to the advancement of the college. I am truly honored to be part of an organization guided by such exemplary leaders who are passionate about the sharing of knowledge of our great specialty. Your selfless dedication to ACOMS is deeply appreciated and serves as an inspiration to us all.
And to the staff of the ACOMS, led by Smithbucklin management, thank you! We greatly appreciate the exceptional leadership of our Executive Director Kurt Gallagher and his team: Kim Garber, Maeceon Lewis, Juliana Ludema McPherron, Sarah Mitchell, Maddy Artman, Tommy Day, and others. Their hard work behind the scenes ensures the seamless operation of ACOMS, from organizing events and educational programs to managing communications and providing member support. I am looking forward to this opportunity to work alongside such a talented team.
In closing, I am filled with optimism and excitement for the incredible journey that lies ahead. Together, let us seize this moment and chart a course towards a brighter future for oral and maxillofacial surgery. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the fall at our annual meeting in Arizona.
