At ACOMS, our mission is to enhance surgical excellence through life-long education and to promote fellowship amongst oral and maxillofacial surgeons. We contribute to the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery knowledge that translates into improved patient outcomes through comprehensive education and exceptional experiences. We develop educational activities that address the learning wants and needs of our members and other surgeons and seek to enhance surgical excellence by identifying and closing existing gaps in knowledge.

1. Exceptional experiences
Our yearly education and networking events provide members with more than just continuing education opportunities; they’re an invaluable time to connect and network with fellow OMS professionals! Plus, these events break away from the ordinary conference routine, and take place in beautiful locations across the United States.
Our yearly ski trip is a member favorite, held every February. Next year, skiers and snowboarders (and those who prefer staying inside a warm hotel) will head to Avon, Colorado’s Westin Riverfront and Spa. On the educational side, next March, we’re providing a hands-on facial cosmetic surgery course in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The 42nd Annual ACOMS Scientific Conference and Exhibition will bring attendees to the spectacular Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for three full days of educational content, networking opportunities and opportunities to connect with the nature surrounding the area. 2. Comprehensive, on-demand educational content
Through the ACOMS Anywhere course library, members can access a library of educational lectures in a diverse range of essential topics in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Access this portal anytime, anywhere and on any device.
3. Small, elite group
ACOMS members enjoy the camaraderie they find among medical professionals facing the same questions, successes and challenges as them. Our members openly share info, best practices and tips through networking events, formal courses and our quarterly newsletter.
Everyone has a chance to become “elite.” Residents and OMS professionals just starting their careers are welcomed into this environment, too. These professionals have access to a reduced-price membership fee, as well as travel scholarships funded by senior members.

ACOMS is run by our Board of Regents. Unlike traditional board members, regents are assigned regions of the United States and are ready to address the concerns and ideas of members within their specific regions.
